Everything you need to know about running polls, quizzes, and Q&A with QR Polls. Missing something? Ask us directly.
Getting started
Do voters need to download an app?
No. Voters scan the QR code (or tap a short link) and vote directly in their mobile browser. Zero downloads, zero accounts, zero friction.
Do I need an account to create a poll?
Yes — creators sign up with email or Google in about 15 seconds. We keep your polls, history, and branding in one place so you can reuse them.
How long does it take to run my first poll?
Under a minute from signup to QR code on screen. We include templates for icebreakers, retros, Q&A, and live quizzes so you don't start with a blank page.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan runs unlimited polls up to 100 responses each, with QR Polls branding. No credit card, no trial clock.
Features & voting
How fast do results appear?
Votes appear on the live results display within about 200 milliseconds via WebSocket. If the audience network dips, votes queue locally and sync when connectivity returns.
What question types are supported?
Multiple choice, yes/no, rating (1–5 or 1–10 / NPS), open-ended text, word cloud, ranked choice, and live-quiz leaderboard. More types ship in the Pro and Team plans.
Can I prevent people from voting more than once?
By default, each device is limited to one response per poll. Team and Enterprise plans add fingerprinting, CAPTCHA, and invite-only voter lists for higher-stakes polls.
Can I moderate open-text responses?
Yes. Word clouds and Q&A submissions support pre-approval so you can filter before anything appears on the screen behind the presenter.
Can I run a live quiz with scoring?
Yes — timed questions, point weighting, and a live leaderboard are built into every plan. Export per-attendee scores as CSV.
Can I customize the look?
Free and Creator plans use QR Polls branding. Pro and above add logo, custom colors, and custom thank-you pages. Team and Enterprise unlock a custom domain.
Pricing, billing & plans
Can I switch plans at any time?
Yes. Upgrade instantly (prorated for the current period) or downgrade at the end of the billing cycle. No retention calls, no “talk to sales” to leave.
Do you offer discounts for education or non-profits?
Yes. 40% off for verified K–12, higher-ed, and registered non-profits on Creator, Pro, and Team plans. Email hello@qrpolls.com with proof of status.
What's your refund policy?
Full refund within 14 days of any upgrade, no questions asked. Annual plans are refunded pro-rata if cancelled within 30 days.
Do you offer an annual discount?
Yes — save roughly two months by paying annually on Creator, Pro, and Team. Enterprise is annual only.
Security, privacy & compliance
Who owns the data I collect?
You do. We process it on your behalf. You can export or delete any poll or response at any time from the dashboard or via API.
Are you GDPR and FERPA compliant?
Yes. We offer a signed DPA for all paid plans, honor data-subject requests, and support FERPA-aligned classroom use. Full trust posture lives on the /security page.
Do you support SSO?
SAML 2.0 SSO is included on Team. SCIM user provisioning and enforced-SSO are available on Enterprise.
Where is my data stored?
US-region by default. EU-region data residency is available on Enterprise. We list every sub-processor on the /security page.
Are responses encrypted?
Yes — TLS 1.2+ in transit and AES-256 at rest on managed Postgres. Backups are encrypted and retained for 30 days.
Integrations & technical
Does QR Polls work in Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet?
Yes. Share the voter link in chat or screen-share the live results page. No extra meeting app install required.
Can I embed QR Polls in PowerPoint or Google Slides?
Yes — paste the live results URL as a web slide, or use the browser view in presenter mode. Results update in real-time on screen.
Do you have an API?
Yes. REST API and webhooks are included on Pro and above. Create polls, fetch responses, and pipe votes into your own dashboards.
What's your uptime?
We target 99.95% monthly uptime, with a 99.9% SLA on Enterprise. Status is public at status.qrpolls.com.
What happens if the venue Wi-Fi fails mid-poll?
Voter devices queue responses locally and sync when connectivity returns. Presenter views reconnect automatically without losing state.
